This production was the première concert performance of this Singspiel which had been composed by Schubert in 1822/1823. Alternately named Der häusliche Krieg (The Domestic War). There is a possibility of a prior staging, with piano accompaniment in the home of schoolmaster Cajetan Giannattasio del Rio (see: Otto E. Deutsch, 'Schubert: A Documentary Biography', trans.
