APGRD Notes
An amateur production staged by the Greek diaspora community in Odessa. This was the first production of ancient Greek drama which was presented on the modern Greek stage. Pikkolos based his three-act adaptation on Sophocles and Jean-François de la Harpe's French adaptation of the play. He cut the choral part and made Neoptolemus deliver parts of them in the second scene. The production was revived in August 1818, in February 1819, and at the beginning of 1822.
