The play, written in 1997, fuses stories from Ovid's Metamorphoses with a plot centring on contemporary homeless and youth drug culture. Stories include that of Echo and Narcissus, about a lonely girl and a handsome man falling into prostitution; that of Philomela, re-named Philo; Persephone and Hades; and Orpheus and Eurydice.
