First staged 1952 (posthumously) due to Hitler's 1944 closure of all theatres and cancellation of scheduled premiere. Part of 2003 BBC Proms, following the season theme of Ancient Greek myths; prom 24, accompanied by Strauss' 'An den Baum Daphne' production 13896.
