The first version of Suzuki's The Bacchae was given only in Japanese (ID 1826); the second version which began life in Milwaukee was bilingual (ID 6148). The Milwaukee production featured twelve American actors whom Suzuki had taught as students, plus some members of SCOT (Allain, p.161).
