APGRD Notes
In 1957, two years after the First Suite, Theodorakis composed a new version of his early piece Oedipus Tyrannus as a tribute to his former teacher Economides who died in that year. The piece is scored for three violins, one viola, cello and double bass. The concert was performed, together with March of the Spirit in either 1970 and 1974; a recording of both works was published by Polygram in 1994.
