It is likely that the plot of this 'drama regio musicale' is linked to the Euripidean or Senecan versions as a prequel. This was the first of three operas, performed at the festivities in Munich in celebration of the birth the first son of the Bavarian Electoral couple (see Sartori ID 9977 for the libretto of the opera, and Sartori ID 10087a for the plan of the celebrations).
