APGRD Notes
It is likely that this ballo tragico in cinque atti drew on Sophocles and/or Seneca. This ballet was produced at San Benedetto during the carnival season of 1779 (between Christmas and Lent). The formulation 'd'invenzione e direzione del signor Giovanni Favier' might mean that Favier composed as well as choreographed the ballet.
