APGRD Notes
This was the first of two ballets which were performed as interval entertainments during performances of the opera I due castellani burlati by Vincenzo Fabrizi. It is likely that it was based on Euripides and/or Senca. The second interval ballet was entitled Le gelosie villane. The performances took place in the spring of 1787. It is likely that the choreography for this ballet was related to the identically titled Banti's production at Turin in 1786 (Sartori ID 12853), Bologna in 1790 (Sartori ID 11834) and Trieste in 1795 (Sartori ID 21766). See also his Teseo e Medea (Production ID 10687).
