APGRD Notes
This was the first of the three ballets which were used as interval entertainment during the production of Marco Portogallo's opera Cinna. It is likely that it drew on Aechylus or Seneca. The other two ballets were titled Il tamburo notturno and Zemira e Azor. The performances took place in the autumn of 1791. Another production of the ballet is recorded at the same theatre in 1793, as interval entertainment during Gaetano Andreozzi's opera Ines de Castro (Sartori ID 13079).
