APGRD Notes
This 'ballo eroico-pantomimo' was the first of two ballets which were performed as interval entertainment during opera performances at the Teatro a Torre Argentina in the carnival season 1791 (between Christmas and Lent). The plot is a sequel to the Euripidean version. The second interval ballet was titled L'amor tra l'armi and was composed by 'diversi celebri autori'. The use of these two ballets is recorded for Francesco Bianchi's opera Cajo Ostilio (Sartori ID 4491).
