APGRD Notes
This is one of the ballets which were used as interval entertainments during opera productoins at Teatro di Via della Pergola in the autumn of 1772. It is likely that it was based either on Sophocles or Seneca. The use of this ballet is recorded for the production of Anfossi's opera Alessandro nell'Indie (Sartori ID 807) and for Mortellari's opera Didone abbandonata (Sartori ID 7837). The second interval ballet for Alessandro nell'Indie was titled Carnevale di Roma; the second interval ballet for Didone abbandonata was titled Diverimento campestre.
