Originally, The Lyric Theatre (1888-95) was a musical hall in Hammersmith; enlarged and renamed The [New] Lyric Opera House in 1895, closed 1966. The theatre was rebuilt piece by piece in new location, reopening in 1979 as The Lyric (venue id. 242).
